Order 01

7-Pin Cable

$74.17 Arriving May 20-22
Order # 114-6001402-8173028

Hopkins Towing Solutions 20246 — 8 ft 7 RV Blade Molded Trailer Cable

Pre-wired 8-foot trailer cable with factory-molded 7-blade RV connector on one end and bare conductors on the other. Heavy jacketed sleeving protects the wires; corrosion-resistant terminals.

Use: Session 03, replaces the existing grimy 7-pin cable end-to-end. Trailer-side conductors splice into the new BUNKER junction box.

Why this one: 8 ft length routes cleanly along the tongue without slack to manage; molded plug is more durable than a field-assembled connector; Hopkins is the OEM standard.

Order 02

Contact Cleaner

$10.62 Arriving Wednesday
Order # 114-0324105-6312244

CRC 05103 QD Electronic Cleaner — 11 oz

Quick-drying petroleum-distillate cleaner for electrical contacts. Plastic safe, leaves no residue, aerosol can.

Use: Session 02 and Session 03, prep junction box terminals and 7-pin plug pins before applying dielectric grease.

Why this one: CRC is the workshop standard; QD evaporates fast so you can grease and reassemble within minutes; plastic-safe means it won't attack the connector housings.

Order 03

Main Parts Bundle

$330.70 Arriving Tuesday
Order # 114-8662664-9830652 — 13 items

BUNKER INDUST Trailer Brake Away Kit — 12V 5Ah battery, built-in charger, switch

Complete trailer breakaway system: weather-resistant case, internal 5Ah battery, integrated charger, push-to-test LED, and the breakaway switch with coiled cable. Side-mount installation.

Use: Session 02, complete replacement for the brittle Cesco junction box and the old breakaway battery.

Why this one: Buying as an integrated kit avoids piecemeal failures; the new fresh battery resets the 3-5 year clock; built-in charger ties cleanly into the aux 12V circuit from the truck.

Ancor 124102 — Marine Grade Duplex Cable, 10 AWG, Red/Yellow, 25 ft

Tinned-copper marine-grade two-conductor cable. 10 AWG, flat profile, red/yellow insulation for easy polarity ID.

Use: Session 01, runs jack power from the disconnect output through the front wall and along the tongue to the new Polestar.

Why this one: 10 AWG handles the jack's 30A peak draw with margin; marine-grade tinning resists corrosion in outdoor wiring; the flat duplex profile lies clean against the tongue.

NOCO NCP2 B603 — Battery Terminal Protectors, 50 pack

Oil-impregnated felt washers that slip over battery posts before clamping the cable terminal. Anti-corrosion pads included in the same pack.

Use: Session 01 on the new Renogy battery posts, plus a re-application step in Session 04.

Why this one: Cheapest insurance against terminal corrosion; 50-pack is enough for years of trailer battery service plus the breakaway battery; NOCO is the workshop standard.

Ancor 309225 — Marine Grade Heat Shrink Butt Connectors, 12-10 AWG, 25 pack

Adhesive-lined heat shrink butt connectors sized for 12-10 AWG wire. Yellow insulation, marine grade.

Use: Session 01 (jack power splicing, inline fuse holder), Session 02 (aux 12V tie-in), and Session 03 (any larger gauge splices in the junction box).

Why this one: Yellow is the correct color code for 12-10 AWG; adhesive-lined means the heat shrink also seals against moisture once you melt the adhesive with a heat gun.

Blue Sea Systems 2300 — 150A Common BusBar with 10 screws and cover

Insulated common bus bar with 10 #8-32 stud positions and a clear protective cover. 150A continuous rating.

Use: Session 02, kept from the original plan as expandable architecture for future 12V loads (interior LED, USB outlet, accessory panel).

Why this one: One bus bar means future load additions don't require disturbing the disconnect or battery terminals; Blue Sea is the marine-industry standard for 12V distribution hardware.

TICONN 200-Piece Heat Shrink Butt Connectors Kit — AWG 24-10, assorted

Color-coded heat shrink butt connector assortment in a storage case. Covers 24-22 AWG (red), 16-14 AWG (blue), 12-10 AWG (yellow) and finer sizes.

Use: Session 02 and Session 03, smaller-gauge signal wire splices (trailer light circuits, brake wire, ground).

Why this one: Trailer wiring uses several gauges; the assortment means you have the right connector for every splice; 200 count leaves plenty of spares for future work.

TR Industrial Multi-Purpose UV Resistant Cable Ties — 8 inch, 100 pack

Black UV-stabilized nylon zip ties, 8 inch length, 100 count.

Use: All four sessions, securing wire runs along the tongue, organizing splices inside the junction box, bundling loom-wrapped sections.

Why this one: UV-resistant nylon doesn't crumble after a season in Colorado sun; 8 inch length handles typical bundling without being so long they create flapping tails.

Ancor 312225 — Marine Grade Heat Shrink Ring Terminals, 12-10 AWG, Size 8 Screw, 25 pack

Adhesive-lined heat shrink ring terminals sized for 12-10 AWG wire with a #8 (small) stud opening.

Use: Session 02, bus bar connections (the Blue Sea 2300 has #8-32 studs).

Why this one: #8 stud size matches the Blue Sea 2300 bus bar exactly; ordering the #8 and 3/8" sizes separately (vs an assortment) means you only buy what you need.

Alltooetools Battery Terminal and Post Cleaner Brush — SF0193

Two-ended wire brush tool: tapered male brush for cleaning cable clamp interiors, female brush for cleaning battery posts.

Use: Session 01, clean cable clamps and battery posts before final connection.

Why this one: Standard two-end design; works on any automotive or AGM battery; keeps in the trailer toolkit for quarterly maintenance.

Alex Tech 25 ft Split Wire Loom Tubing — 1/2 inch, Black

Split (slit-down-the-side) corrugated wire loom in 1/2 inch diameter, 25 feet on a roll. Black UV-stabilized.

Use: Session 01 on the jack power run, plus Session 04 on any wire run still exposed after Session 02 and 03.

Why this one: Split design slips over already-installed wires without disconnecting them; 1/2 inch handles the 10 AWG duplex and smaller bundles; 25 ft covers the whole tongue plus the wheel-well runs.

Blue Sea Systems 6005 m-Series — On/Off Battery Isolator Switch with Locking Key

Compact red rotary battery disconnect switch. 300A continuous, 3/8" studs, removable locking key, mounting flange.

Use: Session 01, the storage-mode disconnect that isolates loads from the battery when the trailer is parked at the storage yard.

Why this one: Mandatory given off-site storage with no shore power (parasitic drain math kills an AGM in 6 weeks otherwise); the 6005 m-Series is the industry-standard for trailer/RV applications; locking key prevents accidental flips.

Vrupin 188-Piece Rubber Grommets Kit — 10 sizes (1/4 to 1 inch)

Assorted rubber grommets in 10 sizes from 1/4 inch through 1 inch. 188 total pieces in a storage box.

Use: Session 01, the front-wall pass-through where the 10/2 duplex cable exits the V-nose.

Why this one: Variety means you find the right ID for any hole you drill (1/2 inch hole takes a different grommet than a 5/8 inch hole); leftover grommets become trailer toolkit stock for future modifications.

CURT 58272 — 7-Pin RV Blade Trailer Wiring Tester, Orange

Plug-in tester for 7-RV-blade trailer connectors. Individual LEDs for each circuit; plug into the trailer-side cable end and the truck activates the corresponding circuit.

Use: Session 03, verifies each of the 7 circuits (ground, tail, left, right, brake, aux 12V, reverse) after the cable replacement and color-matching.

Why this one: Eliminates the run-to-the-truck loop during circuit testing; identifies wiring mistakes before you close the junction box; orange housing is hard to lose at a comp lot.

Jack, Battery, and Finishing Parts

$420.44 Arriving Mon-Fri (split)
Order # 114-8986788-3791437 — 5 items, split shipment

POLESTAR Electric Trailer Jack — 5000 lb A-Frame, Hard Wiring, 9-27 inch Lift

Electric A-frame tongue jack with ball-screw drive, weatherproof cover, LED work light, hard-wire connection (no plug-in cord), and manual crank backup. 5000 lb dynamic / 7500 lb static rated.

Use: Session 01, mechanical install plus power wiring from the Blue Sea disconnect.

Why this one: Ball-screw drive lasts longer than the cheaper acme-thread designs; 7500 lb static rating handles the tongue weight with margin; IP56 rating for Colorado weather; manual backup means you're not stranded if the motor ever fails; hard-wire eliminates the plug-in cord failure mode. Identified as 2026 OutdoorCarry "best overall" in our research.

Ancor 312625 — Marine Grade Heat Shrink Ring Terminals, 12-10 AWG, Size 3/8 Screw, 25 pack

Adhesive-lined heat shrink ring terminals sized for 12-10 AWG wire with a 3/8" stud opening.

Use: Session 01, all terminations at the Blue Sea 6005 disconnect (which has 3/8" studs) and the battery cable ends.

Why this one: 3/8" stud size matches the Blue Sea 6005 m-Series disconnect; same Ancor adhesive heat-shrink construction as the butt connectors (one heat-gun pass seals everything).

FEBRYTOLD 10 Gauge Inline Fuse Holder — Waterproof Pigtail with 30A and 40A Fuses

Pre-wired 10 AWG inline ATC blade fuse holder with weatherproof rubber boot cover. Comes with 30A and 40A blade fuses.

Use: Session 01, installed on the positive conductor of the jack power run within 18 inches of the disconnect output stud.

Why this one: 10 AWG matches the Ancor 124102 duplex cable exactly (no wire-size mismatch at the splice); waterproof boot for outdoor mounting on the tongue; ATC blade fuses are the universal trailer fuse type. Use the 30A fuse for the jack; keep the 40A as a spare or for a future higher-current accessory.

Renogy Deep Cycle AGM 12V 100Ah Battery

Maintenance-free sealed AGM deep cycle battery. 100Ah capacity, 1100A max discharge, 3% self-discharge per month.

Use: Session 01, replaces the wrong-chemistry Super Start starting battery currently in the box.

Why this one: AGM is the right cost/performance balance for ~8 events/year (lithium overkill given the calendar-age life limit at this usage); 100Ah comfortably covers a comp weekend plus the parasitic loads between events; Renogy is well-regarded in the solar/RV space at a sane price point; maintenance-free means no electrolyte top-ups.

CRC Marine Premium Dielectric Grease — 3.3 oz

Non-curing silicone dielectric grease in a pressurized can with a precision Select-A-Bead nozzle. Seals against moisture, prevents corrosion, safe on plastics and rubber.

Use: All sessions, applied to every exposed terminal: battery posts, disconnect switch studs, jack input lugs, fuse holder contacts, junction box splices, 7-pin plug pins.

Why this one: Marine-grade formula is the right environmental spec for trailer use; the Select-A-Bead nozzle lets you place a precise dot without slathering; 3.3 oz is enough for the whole trailer with leftover for the quarterly maintenance schedule.

Order 05

Battery Box

$26.75 [fill in arrival]
Order # [fill in Amazon order number]

Attwood 9084-1 Large Vented Battery Box — Group 29/31

Marine-grade polypropylene battery box, vented design, with hold-down strap and mounting hardware. Internal dimensions sized for Group 29 and 31 batteries. USCG and ABYC compliant.

Use: Session 01, secures the new Renogy 100Ah AGM to the V-nose floor. Replaces the loose unsecured plastic box currently in the trailer.

Why this one: Group 29/31 is the right size for the Renogy 100Ah; Attwood is a marine industry standard; ships as a complete kit with hold-down strap and mounting hardware. Vented design provides margin if the AGM ever off-gasses under extreme conditions. Lift-off lid (not snap-top) is more rugged for permanent install. Best balance of price and quality among the Group 31 options reviewed.
